There are good reasons to celebrate: Anatomy of a Fall was awarded Best Film in Foreign Language and Best Screenplay at the 81st Golden Globes, this Sunday, January 7.
These U.S. awards for a European film illustrate the vitality and the strength of the European film sector, supported by regulations that foster freedom of creation and support a plurality of players, from financiers to distributors.
Today, we address a special thanks to the European Parliament which voted last December in favour of territorial exclusivity for the audiovisual sector: this provision is key for independent European players such as the sectors we represent and thus for our creativity and success. It allows for the circulation of our films all around the globe, and for their recognition.
